Monday was just as nice as Sunday, but Scraps and Rags could get there until evening. This meant fewer dogs but we did see some we have seen in a while including GracieRedShoes and Ringo. After we closed out the small dog park we took a quick walk through the big one and headed home. It was pretty dark out so my photo opportunities were limited but if you were there, you may want to take an gander.
With the cold and snow of January, Scraps and Rags haven’t been to the dog park much to date in 2011. It was relatively warm on this Sunday giving the the dogs a chance to enjoy the dog park in the snow without too much worry about being cold.
There is still a very thick foundation of snow on the ground and no dirt and mud to ugly up the entire place. Those days are coming. There were lots of dogs taking advantage of the nice day so we were able to have enough fun in the small dog park with the handful of dogs in there. New to the blog is Butters the tan and white Jack Russell who had a good time chasing snow balls.
Toward then end of the day the sun came out from the clouds enough to get a few really nice shots. The snow gives us a new perspective on the dogs, so check of the pictures I took, especially if you were there.

A sunny Saturday afternoon at Morris County’s Central Park dog park welcomed Scraps and Rags and a whole host of other dogs, big and small. The beautiful weather really brings out the dogs and they all seemed to have a good time. Scraps and Rags were able to meet their across the street neighbor, Cloe who Rags barks at on the street so they never had a real chance to meet in peace. It hardly mattered, Rags still barked at her in the dog park but they were a little more friendly to each other. Trace was the cool Jack Russell that like to elevate.

It was a busy dog Sunday for Rags, and too a lesser extent Scraps, which culminated in a great day at Morris County’s dog park located at Central Park. It is really beautiful hanging out in Morris County right now as the weather is just right and the leaves are in full color all over.
We started the day at agility class with Rags over at St. Huberts in Chatham. The practice field there was in full living color and a delight to go to. Rags is beginning to learn how to work an agility course. Right from dog class we stopped by Morristown where a parade of dogs in Halloween costumes was just getting underway. This was a really nice dog event and I took lots of nice pictures of the dogs in costume, so check them out here. From the parade we decided to go to the dog park with Scraps and Rags.
Central Park was bustling with some type of racing event at the park-side and the dog park was loaded with dogs. What a great new park! We arrived around 1:00 and the sunlight was good for photographs. We ventured into the small dog park for quite a while as there was a lot of activity there. Many white dogs. We saw Ringo! Lucky was a cute new brown dog (Dachshund Chihuahua mix) with long pointy ears. Sebastian of course was there stirring up the pot and when Lewis and Clark arrived, it was just that much more doggy bedlam. Too bad Scraps and Rags did partake in much of it. Doesn’t matter, Rags was pooped from the previous activities and resting in the comfortable park was relaxing. It gave me an opportunity to get pictures of the other dogs.
We then hung in the large park for a while. There was also a lot of activity over there. We did a lap, enjoyed the foliage, took lots of pictures and then headed home. I ran out of battery power on the camera, so there was no use hanging out in the dog park any more.

I have been reluctant to take my Golden Retriever to the dog park in fear of aggressive dogs. I started taking in in the morning and it was great, he got the energy out and the dogs were well behaved. Tonight I decided to take him to get the energy out and there was a small dog mounting many other the dogs, sounded aggressive, at first was coming at my dog w […]
Please post a copy of the dog park rules by all the gates in the central dog park. The parks are getting very crowded and 99 % are well behaved, out for for a day of fun and have responsible owners. BUT the remainder ignore the rules, don’t clean up waste ( an extreme health hazard to both humans and dogs) and ignore the rules. There are some aggressive dogs […]
