2011-01-30 Central Dog Park in the Snow

With the cold and snow of January, Scraps and Rags haven’t been to the dog park much to date in 2011.  It was relatively warm on this Sunday giving the the dogs a chance to enjoy the dog park in the snow without too much worry about being cold.

There is still a very thick foundation of snow on the ground and no dirt and mud to ugly up the entire place.  Those days are coming.  There were lots of dogs taking advantage of the nice day so we were able to have enough fun in the small dog park with the handful of dogs in there.  New to the blog is Butters the tan and white Jack Russell who had a good time chasing snow balls.

Toward then end of the day the sun came out from the clouds enough to get a few really nice shots.  The snow gives us a new perspective on the dogs, so check of the pictures I took, especially if you were there.

2010-12-18 Central Dog Park on a Cold Saturday Afternoon

In December, it has been tough for Scraps and Rags to find the chance to get to the dog park.  This Saturday was nice and sunny so that the cold temperature was not too much of a problem.  We were able to spend an hour in the small dog park with some of our old friends.  For the most part we had a good time except for a viscous skirmish Rags got into with Simba.  Good thing I was quick on the pull as I hoisted Rags in the air quickly before too much damage was done.  Short of that, it was a nice day with some nice pictures.  I liked Gracie’s red outfit, it reminded me of the PJ’s Agarn and O’Rooke used to wear on F-Troop.

2010-12-11 Central Dog Park on Saturday Afternoon

It is a nice sunny warm Saturday afternoon and  it was time to get Scraps and Rags out of the house and to the dog park.  They haven’t been to the dog park for two weeks now and we couldn’t waste this nice weather so we hit up the park for an hour or so.   The ground was hard and frozen so it was a pleasure to walk on but it is a bit depressing to see how all the grass is gone.

There was a nice crowd of dogs out there a a few new ones to the dog park blog.  There was Bella, the 6-month old black Lab-Border Collie mix.  She was very playful and we she welcome her and refer to her a BellaLab. We also had Jack the fluffy white Nordic looking dog.  Oliver the Westie and Bruno the Bulldog pup.

After a good hour in the small dog park with chasing the balls and the dogs we headed into the large dog park.  We saw many more dogs in there and played for a while and then did a lap and headed home.  A nice day at the park with a lot of good photographs.

2010-09-18 Central Dog Park, Late Saturday Morning

After getting a little breakfast at the nearby Morris Plains farmers market and craft show, we took our bikes and Scraps and Rags down Graniss Avenue over to the Central Park dog park.  It was surprising empty when we arrived around 11:00 with only little Simba in the small dog park.  We played with him for a little while before walking the trail in the big park.  There we met 2 French Bull Dogs, one named Bowie who was black with a black dot in the white stripe on his head.  The other one was mostly white but I didn’t catch his name.

By the time we left at close to leaving time the sun came out and so did the dogs.  There was both a nice crowd in the big dog park as well as the small dog park by the time we left at 12:15 so we took one last little jaunt in the small dog park before we left.  There is a good chance we will be back for a late afternoon session so stay tuned.
