2010-08-26 – Bark-Hopping ‘Round Town

A dog agility trial for Scraps the Dog over the previous weekend with some wet weather has meant we haven’t been to the dog park for the past 6 days.  In addition, Scraps and Rags haven’t been to the Denville Dog Park since August 13, so I felt obliged to head on over to Zeek Road and see if we could catch up to a few friends from Denville.

I passed the Central Dog Park on the way over to Denville and there was a lot of excitement there.  Nevertheless, I continued to the Denville Dog Park, it has better sunlight for pictures anyway.  I was there just after five, which is typically too early for most dogs, and only Isabelle and Roxy were there.  Later on a new dog to the park and blog showed up named Bruno.  Scraps and Rags got along well with everyone.

We stayed, played, did a little agility took a few photos and let’s not forget the simultaneous poops.  We all then “bark-hopped” on over to Central Park Dog Park.  The place was buzzing with excitement.  A good mix of 10-15 small dogs made it a lot of fun when we got there.  Other Denville Dog Park turn-coats we found lurking around there were Phoebe and Chester.  There were way too many dogs to try to know names, but one I recall is Lexi the super tiny, soft brown hot-dog.

2010-08-11 Denville Dog Park before sunset but in the clouds

Scraps and Rags haven’t been at the dog park for over a week as we were all busy competing in a dog agility trial over the week end.  We got there pretty early, before most of the other dogs.  At the park were SammyBlack, Goji, Phoebe and a new dog to us and the blog, Cookie a Golden who quickly pinned Scraps against the fence and overwhelmed him in a pretty frightening manner.  He then proceeded to do the same to Rags.  We boogied into the small dog park and threw a few balls around until Cookie left. I hope we don’t meet him again.

We then re-joined the rest of the safe dogs in the main area.  A whole bunch of dogs began to arrive around 6:00 p.m. and the dog park was about as busy as I have seen it since we have gone there.  I count 23 dogs and I probably missed 1 or 2.  Unfortunately, the clouds rolled in and the light was not there to effectively capture all the action in all it glory.  I did what I could.  There is probably better video than there is photography.  Let me not forget that also new to the blog arriving late before I left were Tucker, Maggie and Carter. Finally, while Cindy came right as we left, I don’t think I got any pictures of her, but if I gave Cookie a mention after what he did to Scraps and Rags, I didn’t want to forget Cindy.

2010-07-08 Denville Dog Park before, during and after sunset

Does anyone know this dog's name?

The weather broke from its heatwave a bit enabling Scraps and Rags to finally get out of the house and enjoy the dog park.  Well it let Rags get to the dog park and bark at every dog she encountered while Scraps was just wanting his mom to show up.  She never did. Nevertheless, a lot of other dogs also took this opportunity to get out of their respective houses and enjoy the comfortable weather.  There were several new dogs to our www.DenvilleDogPark.com blog including Sammy and Sarge, Roxy, Coco, Abby, Emma, Darla and Fargoe.  Additionally, there was a little black dog who was there when I first arrived but I don’t know his name.  He is currently known as ?-dog until someone tels me his name for real.  Please leave a comment if you know this black dog’s name.

2010-07-02 Denville Dog Park at Sunset

I counted up to 14 dogs at the park while Scraps and Rags were there at sunset from 6:30 to 7:45.  That’s a lot of frolicking on a beautiful Friday evening that is sending us off in to the 4th of July holiday weekend. Have a good one every one!
