2011-01-01 Central Dog Park Sunny in the Snow on New Years Day

2011 is looking to be much brighter than 2010 if New Years Day is any indication.  Today was much brighter and warmer than yesterday.  This meant there were more dogs in the park.  Yesterday there were none in the small dog park, but today there was a nice mix.

By 12:30 Scraps and Rags got over their hangovers and dragged their haunches of of bed and to the dog park to play the other hungover dogs.  Today at the dog park we met Mozy, BaileyTan, a small happy playful tan dog and also Ginger, a slightly larger tan dog in the large dog park.  All three are new to the blogs tagging system, so welcome.

The small dog park was still covered with snow.  This kept it clean and fun to run around in but eventually Scraps’ feet seemed to get cold so we headed to the large dog park where there was more of the ground was showing through the previously melted snow.  With today’s high temperatures, the ground was much muddier than yesterday.  Rags does really like the mud at all; what a princess.

We left around 1:30 when the sun began to hide behind a blanket of clouds. Prior to the sun leaving I was able to take lots of good light drenched pictures so check them out and enjoy.  Happy New Year!

2010-12-31 Central Dog Park on NYE in the Snow

Scraps and Rags were able to enjoy the last day of the year at Morris County’s dog park with a dozen or so puppy pals.  It was nice and warm, yet not sunny so the pictures lack a little shine to them.  The snow from the previous blizzard covered half the dog park while dry ground covered the rest. There was a surprisingly small amount of mud considering that quite a bit of snow had melted.

We were able to find a couple of new dogs to the blog based on extracting their names from their dog tags.  We welcome Tanner the brown muscular dog and Zoey the cute auburn dog.  Additionally, we welcome Mallomar the Belgian Shepard and Tootsie the little black pug like animal to the blog.  We met them before but I guess they were never officially tagged and welcomed.

Happy New Year to all the dogs and the people and we all look forward to our first full year at the Morris County Dog Park at Central Park.

2010-12-24 Central Dog Park on Christmas Eve

Scraps and Rags enjoyed the relatively warm, nice weather at the dog park on the afternoon of Christmas Eve to get some last minute dog park action in before the holiday. We first went to the small dog park where there were a handful of pups including Rocky the Schnauzer with a nice blue stripped sweater.  He was new to us and the blog, so welcome Rocky. We then went into the large dog park where we also saw a handful of dogs wrestling with each other.  Finally, we finished the day back in the small dog park where we saw a brown and white Jack Russell having a nice tussle with Pearl the brown Puggle.  Those two were stuck to each other like Velcro during their wrestling match.  Good clean fun for every one involved.

With a substantial snow storm bearing down on the Garden State the day after Christmas, it looks like this may be the last day at the dog park for the year for both Scraps and Rags.  With that said, we all wish everyone the best of holiday seasons and joyous new year.

2010-12-22 Central Dog Park on a Wednesday Lunchtime

We got Scraps and Rags out for a quick half hour at the dog park on this cold, blustery Wednesday afternoon.  There were no dogs in the small dog park and only a handful in the large.  We went into the large dog park, ran a couple of laps checked out and photographed the dogs and then we were out of there.
