2011-06-10 Central Dog Park

With Scraps and Rags keeping us so busy I fell behind posting photos from the dog park and I am going to post 3 quick one in a row.  This was a dark Friday evening in the small dog park.

2011-06-02 Central Dog Park on Thursday Evening

Sun and a cool refreshing breeze characterized this Thursday evening at the dog park.  This brought Scraps and Rags out as well as hoards of other dogs. Since it was so nice and comfortable outside, I was able to capture several dogs playing in the sunlight with my camera.  This resulted in many good pictures.

There were lots of new dogs to me and the dog park blog, so in mass we welcome Lexi the small brown Daschund , Onxy who is obviously black, Nelly who also black but smaller, RileyBrown who was fun and brown and finally there was Jake an off-white Aikto Shepard mix.

2011-05-31 Central Dog Park on Tuesday Evening

The last day of May found Scraps and Rags at the dog park.  With Memorial Day behind us, today felt like the first day of working summer, hitting the dog park up after work; taking advantage of the long days we have ahead of us for the next couple of months.

There weren’t many dogs at the park and only a small sliver of sunlight to shine upon the grassy field.  Occasionally, one of the dogs would jump out of the shadows and run in the setting sun and I was able to get some nice warm shots of those dogs.  Two new dogs I met were Gucci and Madison, so welcome the two of them to the dog park blog.

2011-05-28 Central Dog Park after the Memorial Day Parade

Saturday morning of Memorial Day weekend means the traditional Morris Plains parade marches up Route 202.  A contingent of dog park attendees with their dogs walked as part of this parade.  Scraps and Rags prefer to watch the parade curbside instead of walking, but when the dog park crew came past us we all remembered how lucky we were to have the new dog park located just up the road from the parade site and close to home.

After the parade, Scraps and Rags headed to the dog park on the bicycles to have a little post parade fun.  Rags is enjoying her new ride, a front-mounted Wald bicycle basket and dog bed, which we just installed the previous night for Morristown’s critical mass bike ride.  The basket lets Rags ride in front of the handle bars, enjoy the wind and the view, and feels nicely secure for her 13 pound body.

We spent time in the small dog park and with the nice weather and the holiday weekend, we had a nice group of small one in the park.  Eventually a Shiba Inu dog club arrived with 4 or five of those Japanese dogs, so that was different.  I heard some one call one of them Suki, so let’s welcome Suki and all the other Shiba Inus to the dog park blog.
