2010-07-31 Denville Dog Park a quick one before and after sunset

After a quick little kayak trip by the Meadowlands, we decided to get a little dog park time in before dinner.  It was a beautiful night with only a handful or two of dogs in the park.  Scraps and Rags did a little agility in the down-time.

Welcome Sammy and Heidi

When Scraps and Rags arrived around 5:30 there weren’t many dogs around.  It was earlier than we usually arrive, we even beat Darby.  In the park were Phoebe who quickly left and Charlie Brown.  There was also a new 7-month old black dog named Sammy who was there for the duration.  It was a nice evening after the afternoon’s heavy rains and the dogs began to arrive in numbers.  Also new to the blog was a 6 month old Shepard named Heidi.  Finally, there was a white dog named Micky who I have seen before but never knew his name.  I left before sunset so I assume there were many other dogs soon to arrive but an hour and a half were enough for us.  Until next time, bow-wow.

On my way to the Denville Dog Park I noticed the competition, the new Morris County Dog Park by Greystone, and it was having a soft opening.  The fence was completed for the small dog park and Scraps and Rags decided to check it out before we all headed to the Denville Dog Parkas planned.  Will I need to set up a Morris County Dog Park blog or do I join forces with DenvilleDogPark.com?  I will likely have and new one for that dog park while setting up links between to two so you can follow Scraps and Rags where ever they play.

When I made it to the Denville Dog Park there were a few new dogs that showed up.  They include Charlie the brown lab, who I will tag as CharlieBrown.   Then there was Molly the golden dog and GracieTan the Buddy look alike  Finally, there was Riley the majestic long-haired auburn German Shepard with the amber eyes.  Then there were lots of the rest of the ordinary crowd.

Who know the name of this new dog? Please leave its name in the comments.

Scraps and Rags arrived after the day’s much needed rain showers to a cooler and less humid dog park.  We arrived at 6:45 and left around 8:30.  When we got there many of the dogs were wet and muddy from laying in the pools and playing in the water and dirt associated with the pool.

The usual crowd was there at the dog park in addition to two new comers to the DenvilleDogPark.com blog community.  They were Texas Hold’em the brown cockapoo, who I will refer to from here on as Tex.  There was also a medium black pointy exuberant dog whose name I didn’t catch  If anyone know this dog please post it here.

By the time this new dog got to the dog park the sun was way gone and my pictures are grainy at best.  If anyone wants good pictures of their dogs it is incumbent on you to get there before the sun sets over the hill and to have your dog play in the sunlight, not in the shadows.  Just a little bit of advice.
